Under the direction of Anna Zimmerman, participants in the Feminist Welding Club got to know welding as a deeply personal practice, in which each connection and every seam bears its own signature style. The designer founded the club in response to male-dominated workshops in which she was often made to feel isolated and inadequate – after all, we are taught early on that machines are for boys and men only. So what does it take to feel at home in the metal workshop?

The exhibition showcases the results of the multi-day workshop and allows visitors to trace the social and technical processes behind their creation.
