As in recent years, our program kicks off with discussions and festivities. Following the opening of the exhibition Islands of Loners, Anna Durnová (University of Vienna), an expert in the sociology of emotions, will provide an introduction into the subject. In conversation with her, we will pursue the following questions: What does loneliness feel like as a political emotion? What are the structural and economical reasons for the pandemic of isolation? And who can make political use of this feeling?

A concert by clarinetist Vincent Pongracz opens the musical part of the evening. This is followed by karaoke with songs of loneliness, tunes by Franjazzco, and island cocktails to round off the welcome delirium on the Island of Loners.
