Zämerisse! (Pull Yourself Together!, 2024)
Horror, hope, and humor form a common thread in Annina Machaz’s show, which transforms Forum Stadtpark’s basement into a dungeon. Creepy figures haunt us in this chamber and wrap us around their fingers. Machaz’s characters wear homemade hats and papier-mâché masks and bring along poems and texts from their homeland, their Heimat. Poetry and slapstick shake hands, while, from afar, you can hear the artist playing a farewell on the alpenhorn. On this evening, fantasy is also autobiographical.
In English and German.
Dramaturgy: Mira Kandathil
Musical direction: Stefan Schneider
Double bill with Alex Franz Zehetbauer.

For the third year in a row, steirischer herbst turns to cabaret and its capacity for gritty, gutsy social criticism. Six performances present a mix of burlesque, street chanson, stand-up, and macabre poetry in the intimate setting of Forum Stadtpark’s basement.
Commissioned and produced by steirischer herbst ʼ24. With the kind support of the Swiss Embassy in Austria.
