The clock seems to be ticking. At what point do we recognize that fascism is returning – and will there still be enough time to act? The consequences of the capitalist mode of production are intensifying, manifesting themselves both in an increasingly palpable culture of cruelty and in the devaluation of human life. At the same time, the all-present pressure to produce shapes not only our work, but also our psyche, forcing us to face this phenomenon as atomized individuals. All the greater, then, is the temptation to escape it mentally – to lose ourselves in work or hedonism instead of paying attention. This conference provides space to discuss new theories of fascism, authoritarian dynamics, and political developments as well as possibilities for collective protection and anti-fascist resistance.
