Book Presentation: Colonial Entanglements in Graz. Historical, Political and Literary Interventions
The book is the result of an intensive engagement with the colonial entanglements of the city of Graz. In preparation for a city walk—first held in October 2024—a working group called „Colonial Entanglements” was formed around Forum Stadtpark. The project team explored sites across Graz where colonial legacies, racist representations, and enduring (post)colonial power relations become tangible.
The book is part of the ongoing work of the group and brings together its diverse activities. In addition to thirteen contributions on the respective stops that make up the city walk, it includes an interview and four literary interventions by Nava Ebrahimi, Barbi Marković, Muhammed Dumanli, and Florian Dietmaier.
During the book presentation, accompanied musically by Tobias Kochseder, the group of authors will briefly introduce the project and open up a discussion on the book’s central insights, theses, and blind spots.
