Grazer Impro Klub

Dominik Kreuzer

Guest production Grazer Impro Klub

When he is not pursuing his main profession as a translator, Dominik Kreuzer plays trumpet, trombone, tuba, double bass and occasionally his voice. He is always ready to explore new musical realms and has been active in various genres over the years - from jazz and urban brass to reggae and afrobeat. He had his first contact with free improvisation in the 90s in Keith Tippett's Seedbed Orchestra. He is a member of the Styrian Improvisers Orchestra, the improv trio First Row Dancer and the jazz formation Trapped in Styles. His own project, voltaic pile-up, combines brass instruments with electronics. In 2020, he founded the Kulturkotter music club in Graz, which focuses on jazz and improvised music. He has been an integral part of the GIK since the very beginning.

The GIK - Grazer Impro Klub sees itself as a platform for the preservation, consolidation and cultivation of the musical practice of improvisation and genre-free musical experimentation. Spontaneously curated and moderated by Patrick Wurzwallner and featuring high-calibre guests, the GIK manifests a benevolent and inclusive space for the facilitation of a collective risk-taking practice. Always on the last Monday of the month. Tell your friends, bring your instruments and be a part of the impro sensation!
